I vs. Me

I vs. Me

I vs. Me

How to decide between the two??

One is a subject, and the other is an object!!!🧐  Simple Trick to remember the difference 👍🏻  It is usually not easy for language learners to tell when they should use “I” or “me.”  This confusion occurs rapidly and leaves the speaker infuriated. Let’s make it simple and study the following sentence, for example:• The Professor was looking at Rohit and I. To determine if the usage of “I” is correct, just exclude “Rohit” to isolate the first-person pronoun.

• The Professor was looking at I. This is not correct because “I” is not an object pronoun. Because the person is the object of the officer’s gaze, we must use the object pronoun “me.”The same principle applies to other examples where the first-person pronouns are paired or grouped with other nouns:

• Shree and me are excited to go to the concert. Once we remove “Shree” from this sentence, we see that the use of “me” is incorrect.

• Me is excited to go to the concert. It’s important to bear in mind that when a pronoun is the object of a preposition, we must use an object pronoun. Many people make the mistake of writing 😣  “between you and I” when they should be writing” between you and me.” 😳   Grammarian Mignon Fogarty says the former is a common example of hyper-correction, 🤓 a result of one’s trial to write correctly and using grammatical rules in places where they don’t apply.

😀  Keep Exploring and Learning!!
