Shri Vidyarthi was a writer, activist and inspiring journalist who used his words to aspire political engagement and communal harmony. Although he was a member of Indian National Congress and an ardent followed of Gandhi Ji, he supported the revolutionaries as well.
It was Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi who supported Shri Ashfaqullah Khan while he was on a run after the Kakori incident. Bhagat Singh was a journalist in Shri Vidyarthi’s newspaper ‘Pratap’ which was published from Kanpur at the time.
He constantly criticized communal riots and the Hindu Mahasabha. He also wrote against Muslim communism. His columns in Pratap brought the masses together for the first Satyagrah.
We salute him today on his birth anniversary. Jai Hind!
